Mad River Swimming Holes

A hallmark of the summer in the Mad River Valley is jumping in a swimming hole in the river.  You'll find them scattered all along the river.  Most of them are dog friendly.  At worst, you'll have to keep your dog leashed.  Although that seems a bit relaxed in the off-season.  Go explore and let us know if you find any new ones.

Lareau Swimming Hole

Lareauis located right across from American Flatbread and is a little more low-key than Warren Falls which is always packed.

Great Eddy/The Bridge

The Bridge has to be one of our favorites. It’s a minute drive from the house, and you’ll typically pass it on your way into town. It has a beach to swim on and relax, a ledge next to the bridge to jump off of, and some mini-rapids to tube down.

Warren Falls

Warren falls is a must-visit. It is absolutely beautiful and I highly reccomend it. There are many cliffs to jump into the water, and I have to say some are a little intimidating, but there are some smaller ones if your not up for a big jump. I reccomend going Early in the morning, probably before 10:00 because after that it starts to get very crowded.
